Once you register for the fair, you will receive an email from Handshake prompting you to schedule your fair sessions. Handshake offers you an opportunity to connect with students in both group and 1on1 sessions during the fair, and allows for easy outreach to students following the fair.

A few important items to note:

  • All company representatives must be added to Handshake prior to including them in the fair.
  • You may use Handshake or another video platform (i.e. Zoom) to host your group sessions. You may ONLY use Handshake to host 1on1 sessions.
  • You may have up to 6 half-hour group sessions. Any student can attend your group sessions.
  • The number of 1on1 sessions you may schedule depends on how many representatives from your organization attend the fair. You may restrict which students are allowed to attend your 1on1 session by qualities like major and GPA. Fewer restrictions are recommended.
  • Only the main registrant may create group and 1on1 sessions. After those sessions are created, the assigned owners of each of those sessions will need to claim their sessions via an email from Handshake and customize their schedule.
  • Following the fair, you will have the option to reach out to students that you connected with at the fair via Handshake.
  • Students will have the opportunity to register for your group and 1on1 sessions right up until those sessions begin.
  • Career services staff are NOT allowed to modify your group or 1on1 sessions. Please carefully consider your session plans prior to scheduling.
