Description

Since 1985,  the Algonquin Building has been the home of a number of experienced independent attorneys practicing primarily in the civil law area.  This paid part time internship offers the opportunity to work with a variety of attorneys,  clients and legal issues.

The areas of the law practiced by the various attorneys include appellate,  business,  employment,  personal injury plaintiff cases,  personal injury defense cases,  wills and estates,  civil trials,  and the representation of both creditors and debtors in bankruptcy proceedings.

Responsibilities

On the job training will be provided for all responsibilities,  including general administrative duties,  assisting attorneys as requested,  eFiling court documents,  filing,  and maintaining documents for easy retrieval,  looking after office supplies and equipment,  and assisting or filling in for staff members when needed.  Occasional client meetings,  research,  document review,  and work on discovery requests and responses may also be requested by the attorneys.  Additional compensated after hours work may be occasionally required during times of peak activity.

Qualifications

Excellent reading,  writing,  computer,  and communication skills are necessary.  Work hours are flexible.  Free parking is provided.  Starting compensation is $11.00 per hour.
