Description

Ambassadors of Hope is a Social Services agency offering a parenting education program that runs multiple times throughout the year at various sites in the community. These courses are offered to families to prevent child abuse and neglect.  This is done by teaching the Nurturing Parenting philosophy.

The parent education program will use an evidenced-based curriculum that teaches parents and their children non-violent and nurturing skills which will promote better family interaction and improve children’s behavior at school

Responsibilities

  • Assist with orgainzing, setting-up and facilitating parent workshops and foster parent support groups
  • create and manage social media platform
  • Provide enrichment activities to children’s group
  • Assist staff with program Development
  • Community engagement and Community outreach
  • Aggregate data from assessments and evaluations
  • Maintain client files
  • Research and identify community resources to refer families
  • Assist with facilitation of foster parent support groups
  • Create and present staff trainings.
  • create and distrub marketing materials for upcoming programs
  • other duties as assigned

Qualifications

  • Ability to work sensitively with diverse populations
  • Working towards a college degree, preferably in a related field (e.g., Education, Human Services, Social Work, or Psychology)
  • Strong communication skills both verbal and written
  • Must be computer literate (working knowledge of word processing, PowerPoint, Excel)
  • Self-motivated, good organizational and interpersonal skills, detail-oriented, ability to multitask and prioritize,
  • Ability to ensure the confidentiality of Families
  • Must have reliable transportation and be willing to frequently travel. Mileage reimbursement provided
  • Must be able to pass CPS, Criminal and Sex Offender background checks.
  • Must be available evening hours during the week to include thursday evenings 5pm-7:45pm and Saturday morning availablity once per month.
  • Must be comfortbale interacting with people in the community and networking
  • must have evening and weekend availabilty
