Social Media and Special Events Intern
Description
The Social Media and Special Events Intern assists the Allen County Courthouse Preservation Trust in managing social media accounts; updating the tour guide training manual and literature; acts as a special events assistant; and assists in special event/preservation research and observation.
Responsibilities
Manage Social Media Accounts
- Update Instagram and Facebook with relevant special events and restoration pictures and stories
- Update website to match
- Gather content for social media accounts
- Increase following through social media connections (vendors, arts partners, etc.)
Update Tour Guide Training Manual and Training Literature
- Design new training manual with support and outline of current manual
- Gather photos to support stories in the manual
- Work with Print Shop on layout and content to create final product
Special Events Assistant
- Meet with clients to assist in coordination of their event
- Meet with Vendors
- Assist during day-of event (1-3 per semester)
Special Event/Preservation Research and Observation
- Research local and regional event venues on logistics and pricing
- Compile reference/comparison guide
- Research vendors/contractors based on specific restoration projects
- Observe/work with conservation specialist on projects as needed
Office Administration
- Office duites including getting mail, answering phones, filing, etc.
Qualifications
Candidates must have strong written, organizational, and computer skills as well as be familiar with all major social media channels. Must provide own laptop for use during internship. Completed at least sophomore year in college in business, marketing, hospitality or related field. Curated Instagram with storytelling background and photography experience a plus.
