Description

The Community Initiatives Intern will assist with researching and summarizing best-practices for promise programs throughout the country to enable the growth and development of the Mid-North Promise Program (MNPP). 

Responsibilities

Through this research the intern will highlight the following:

  • Program Requirements
  • Program Audience Demographics (Children, Families, Income Guidelines, Target Residential Area)
  • Program Benefits
  • Program Outcomes (Successes and Challenges)
  • How program is promoted and marketed to its target audience.

The intern will also create a MNPP participant directory highlighting skills and assets of MNPP participants to help build peer support. 

Qualifications

Intern should:

  • Have completed at least one year of college.
  • Have experience working in family and/or youth programming.
  • Have an academic background in nonprofit management, humanities, history, social work, education, family studies, museum studies, child development, psychology, sociology, or a related field.
  • Have good oral and written communication skills.
  • Have excellent organizational and research skills.
  • Have web researching skills and a basic knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint
  • Exhibit professional behavior and responsible work ethic
  • Have excellent customer service skills
  • Have the ability to multi-task
  • Be available Saturdays and some evenings to help facilitate meetings and programs.
  • Be available to work a minimum of 12 hours per week.
