Description

The Development Intern focuses on assisting in all aspects of the development process. The
Development Intern will serve as a support resource in the multifamily development process
from site identification and land contract execution to turnover to property management.


Major Objectives:
• Track a working list of development tasks and efficiently work them to completion.
• Research topics and summarize findings as they relate to specific project needs.
• Learn about the process of development and be assisgned tasks that could involve
procurement, selection, design management, risk assessment, contract and schedule
management.
• Be a problem solver. As a member of the Development team of The Garrett Companies,
we solve problems.

Responsibilities

Specific Duties & Responsibilities:
• Learn and understand industry specific terms.
• Work in unison with other departments to communication and gather appropriate
information.
• Assist Development team members in specific tasks related to the development process
and construction handoff.

Qualifications

Required Skills:
• Strong excel skills and related macro programming, power point, web search engines.
• Strong written and verbal skills.
• Ability to handle multiple tasks and for multiple projects.
• Ability to work independently and with team of professionals as needed.Required Education:
• Currently enrolled in Bachelor's or Master’s degree in real estate, architecture,
engineering, business, urban planning or some other relevant field.
• Must be proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
• Must be an excellent verbal and written communicator.
• Skills and experience with marketing, public speaking, and presentations is a plus.


Required Education:
• Currently enrolled in Bachelor's or Master’s degree in real estate, architecture,
engineering, business, urban planning or some other relevant field.
