Infant Teacher - Summer 2021

Description

The Infant Teacher position is working with infants from 6 weeks of age up to approximately 15 months of age, helping care for their basic needs and assisting them in their early stages of development.  The student will learn first-hand under the guidance of mothers and experienced individuals who have worked for years with newborns, teaching skills and techniques to care for infants.  Skills and techniques in how to help an infant learn to "self-soothe" in going to sleep, transition in sleeping from a crib to a cot; introducing new foods with tastes and textures; helping infants to roll over, crawl, and transition to walking so that their development progresses optimally.  Interns will be introduced to "Ages and Stages" assessment program which helps both teachers and parents assess the child's proper development.

Responsibilities

~ Feeding bottles and helping transition and introduce different stages of food.

~ Changing diapers

~ Soothing children

~ Through interaction assisting in stages of development such as rolling over, crawling, and walking

~ Helping to self soothe and learn to sleep on a cot

~ Working with the "Ages and Stages" program to properly assess children and aid them in areas they need to work on for proper development.

Qualifications

~ Must be at least 21 per state requirements

~ Must have high school diploma

~ Prefer some training or study in early childhood development
