Description
The Children’s Museum’s largest event fundraiser, Museum by Moonlight will take place in August 2021. Over 100 volunteers will be needed to carry out the necessary duties for attendees of the event. This Intern position will assist the Director of Volunteer Services with the logistics for the evening including creating volunteer opportunities, database management, training volunteers and communicating with sponsors and community groups. This intern will be a part of the Museum by Moonlight Core Team and will assist with event details.
Responsibilities
- Create training materials
- Database management
- Email communication with variety of volunteer groups
- Matching volunteer skills with opportunities.
- Participating in daily meetings and larger planning team meetings
Qualifications
- Due to the nature of the Museum by Moonlight event, you must be at least 21 years of age in order to be considered for this internship
- Major in Communication, Hospitality Administration, Meeting and Event Planning, Business Administration, Public Administration, Human Resources, Arts Administration and/or Liberal Arts preferred.
- 20 hours per week.
- Junior or Senior or recent graduate of college of university
- Demonstrated interest and/or experience with database management.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Ability to be self-motivated and willing to work independently or as part of a team.
