Landscape Architect Intern- Summer 2021- The Garrett Companies

The Landscape Architect Intern will work alongside our in-house Landscape Architect on a range of projects in multiple markets across the country. This intern will assist with schematic design, design development, construction documents and construction administration. The primary focused will be on multifamily development projects.

Responsibilities

Major Objectives:

• Research topics and summarize findings as they relate to specific project needs.

• Help with the production of graphic presentations, renderings, andconstruction drawings suitable for bidding and regulatory approvals andpermits.

• Research local zoning codes to help ensure designs are complete and fully prepared for permit / plan reviews.

• Help prepare landscape and site feature design presentations.

• Coordinate with internal teams, consultants, contractors, fabricators, andregulatory agencies to meet overall projectobjectives.

• Be a problem solver. As a member of the Development team of The Garrett Companies, we solve problems. 

 Specific Duties & Responsibilities:

• Assist our in-house Landscape Architect with specific tasks related to the development process and construction handoff.

Qualifications

Required Skills:

• Familiarity with AutoCAD, Adobe Creative Suite (Adobe Photoshop, Indesignand Acrobat), and Microsoft Suite.
• Excellent communication skills. 
• Strong graphic design abilities. 
• Ability to handle multiple tasks and multiple projects. 
• Ability to work independently and with a team of professionals as needed.
• Ability to take direction and a willingness to learn.

Required Education:

• Rising junior or Master’s student pursuing a Landscape Architecture degree from an accredited university.
