Description
The Knox County 4-H Summer Intern is best suited for someone who is majoring to be an Extension Educator, either majoring in Regular Education. The Intern will be planning educational lessons and activities for summer programs in the County. They will take the lead on planning the lessons and activities with the 4-H Educator providing guidance. It is preferred the applicant has some background in 4-H. They will also be help will summer 4-H activities and helping conduct the 4-H sessions during the Knox County Fair. They will be working with youth from grades Kindergarten to graduated seniors heading off to college that fall.
Responsibilities
- Primarily of assisting Extension Educators with summer 4-H program efforts.
- Responsible for providing educational activities for community organization (Possible organizations: Knox County Public Library, Washington Center Day Camp, Knox County YMCA, and summer programs).
- Attend the 3 day, 2 night 4-H Camps at Historic Santa Claus Campground at Santa Claus on June 7-10, 2021.
- Some office work will also be assigned.
- And all other jobs assigned.
Qualifications
- Past 4-H member preferred.
- Must be a high school graduate
- Must be enrolled in some type of post-secondary education (college or vocational school).
- Must pass the Purdue University “Child Sexual Abuse: Prevention and Response” training.
