Description

Indiana INTERNnet is a business-education partnership between the Indiana Chamber of Commerce, Indiana employers and Indiana education institutions to promote the quality and quantity of work-based learning opportunities statewide. www.IndianaINTERN.net serves as the state's online matching system connecting students and employers for these opportunities. Indiana INTERNnet is currently offering a paid summer internship to assist staff with engaging students and employers to increase number of users and outreach opportunities.

Internship will last approximately from May to August 2020 with flexibility dependent upon intern’s schedule. Parking is at intern’s expense. The internship is currently planned to be hosted in person. However, this could change to either a hybrid or virtual experience depending on COVID-19 circumstances. Any changes will be communicated to applicants. The hourly wage is $12 an hour.

Responsibilities

  • Fully manage the logistics of the Indiana Intern Showcase on Aug. 5
    • Create promotional emails for interns and employers
    • Develop a timeline for the day of the event
    • Communicate to intern participants to ensure their showcase materials are ready and they know when to present
    • Create promotional materials (emails and social media posts) to recruit attendees
  • Provide proactive email outreach to employers in order to see if their internship positions are filled
  • Provide assistance and feedback to students as they navigate the site and apply to/interview for internship opportunities
  • Promote Indiana INTERNnet’s resources and services to students and employers through targeted email marketing
  • Contribute to blog that is published twice per week and recruit other students to contribute guest blogs
  • Contribute to Indiana INTERNnet's Twitter, Facebook and LinkedIn pages
  • Assist with event logistics for Indiana Intern Day on July 29
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

  • Strong ability to manage ones time and consistently meet deadlines
  • Ability to effectively work and coordinate with multiple people and groups in various departments and/or organizations
  • Comfortable with communicating verbally or through written media to employers in various industries
  • Possess strong attention to detail and ensure written communication is without grammatical errors
  • Preferred familiarity with computer programs including Microsoft Office (specifically Outlook, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint), WordPress, Canva and social media
  • Public relations, nonprofit management, marketing and communications majors preferred
