Black Pine's mission is to educate people about responsible animal care and conservation. Home to over 100 exotic animals representing 55 different species Black Pine offers a unique opportunity to utilize marketing skills in a variety of platforms including social media, web site maintenance, written communications, ad design and public relations. Black Pine Animal Sanctuary offers an immersive unparalleled learning opportunity for college students and graduates to gain broad practical experience as an integral member of the sanctuary team.
Responsibilities
• Update and maintain Black Pine’s social media presence, including scheduling Facebook updates
• Assist in planning, writing and managing weekly eNewsletter
• Draft, distribute and pitch news releases, media alerts and other stories
• Designing flyers, graphics, e-vites and other marketing material for major events hosted by Black Pine
• Update the Black Pine website when needed
• Collaborating with staff on new ideas, directions, and venues for marketing and communications
Qualifications
- Enrollment in a Bachelor’s degree program required
- Familiarity with social media strategies and platforms
- Ability to multi-task and take initiative
- Flexible work schedule
- Hardworking and dedicated outlook
- Ability to take direction and absorb information quickly
- Experience with content creation a plus, even if not professionally
- At least 18 years old with valid driver's license
- Minimum committment of 10 weeks on site to complete 400 hours of service.
- Available to work weekdays.
- Able and willing to read and follow verbal and written work instructions and work independently.
- Able to commit to upholding all safety and personnel policies, and support the overall non-profit mission.
